I have a question about gimp hair brushes?

i try to use them to make my hair look longer but it looks fake as crap is there something im doing wrong or needa follow please for mee out!!

I actually don't tend to use hair brushes... because either the chuncks are way to big and you have to erase a LOT of it... which takes up way to much time, or it does look ';fake.'; If you use hair brushes i suggest you don't, strands look more realistic, just make sure you aren't using a butt load of them. I also tend to use stock photos, basically what you have to do is blend bits of hair into your actual photo or blend the original photo into the stock one... i prefer stock into original, to keep your flair. Although that takes practice. If you really insist on hair brushes make sure to go in and add some shadows and midtones, highlights and w.e. it makes everything look more realistic, but make sure you're adding layers, because if you don't you might end up getting shadowing and highlights where you don't exactly want them.
