What is the best hair brush for a Long Haired Dachshund for home use?

Hi,

I need a few recommendations as to what you think is the best brush to use for a Long Haired Dachshund. Need name of brush, model number if applicable.

I'm actually asking for someone else. Neither of us are professional groomers but we both have dachshunds. Friend needs a good brush. Mine is short haired so I don't need brush.

Thx!What is the best hair brush for a Long Haired Dachshund for home use?
For a longhaired dachshund, the best type of brush would be what is called a pin brush. No need for model numbers, there are a lot of different ones on the market from cheap ones to very expensive professional ones. The only ones that I would avoid would be the ones that have the pins on one side and a regular bristle brush on the other side.

The pin brush will help remove the dead undercoat and will do a good job of keeping the coat mat free. It will also help disperse the natural oils throughout the coat. The coat will need to be brushed on a regular basis, every couple of days at the least, to prevent matting. Also, if the dog gets muddy, let him dry and then brush with the pin brush and there will likely be no need to bathe the dog.

As someone has already stated, even a smooth coated dachshund needs to have some coat care. There are rubber groomers with short rubber teeth that are perfect for keeping a smooth coat in condition. These are like rubber curry combs and are great for massaging the skin, loosening dirt and removing it, and dispersing the natural oils. You can also find grooming gloves which do much of the same thing while you just give your dog a vigorous petting. Your smooth dachshund will have a much nicer coat and be healthier if you pay some attention to his coat on a regular basis.

Even short haired dogs need brushed every once in a while. :) You'd be amazed at how his coat will shine after a good brushing.

A brush I recommend is the slicker brush. And another I recommend is the furminator. You can look reviews up on google. :)
for dachshunds is the best that hairbrush also for small dogs like yorkie! I recommand!
