How can straighteners and hair brushes make your hair more shiny?

in one of the straightener adverts they say that it will make your hair smooth and shiny!! how can straighteners do that? same with hairbrushes! How can straighteners and hair brushes make your hair more shiny?
well what i tried yesterday, was to shower at night, blow dry my hair, then straighten it that night. and this morning all i had to do was touchups. and my hair was super soft and shiny too. idk what i did other than do that stuff last night, but it workd for me. =)How can straighteners and hair brushes make your hair more shiny?
a great way of making you hair shiny is rinsing it with cold water after conditioning!
Normally a hair strand is like the skin of fish that have scales. That was an exaggeration but you get the point. What makes those scales close up is rinsing it with cold water at the end of the shower or pressing it with straighteners or brushing with a brush. That will give you a short term effect because if you overdo it your hair will get damaged.
if it is a chemical straightner then you are in trouble, and should be done professionally. if you are using liquid styling tools and flat iron you need to use heat protective styling tool either caucasian or ethnic depending on your hair.
because when u brush your hair it brings out the oil in your skin and it makes ur hair look shiney~
I dont know about straighteners, but when you brush your hair the action takes the oils that the hair folicle makes and distributes from your scalp to the hair shaft. The natural oil on the dry hair shaft gives it a shine.
Be warned, over use of straightners makes your hair go brittle and will eventually, when you're about 40 actually, begin to fall out....yuck!
massaging the scalp, by brushing or combing, etc. releases natural oils onto your hair that your body makes.
idk i have straght hair no matter what
i have no clue..but it soes help with sraightening if you use a brush while doing so...but u can use silk drops to make ur hair shinier and it decrease frizz....u can find it at your local beauty supply store or i think it is even sold at wal mart.

hairbrushes will help in stimulating the sculp for good blood circulation around the area, thereby facilitating the production of natural oil, it also hastens the elimination of unwanted materials like dirt, grim and deadhairs.. sometimes the only solution to bad hair is proper brushing

the straighteners will aid what the hairbrush cannot perform... using this will really leave the hair straight because of the heat apllied on hair
Well the brushes and straighteners can't do it by themselves they just make it seem like that to make money when in reality you're going to need other hair products to make your hair shiny. But I think the straighteners with porcelain plates will make it more shiny.
the ceramic needles or plates make your hair look brand new!!!!
I would get a good brush and a comb that you like. Then get a nice shampoo and conditioner and wash your hair with a comb to get out all the soap out. I would wash your hair with cold water. Then dry it with a towel then brow dry it. I know a girl at school that did it now she looks so pretty. Good Luck!
i'm not sure how they do it, but i sure know my straightener can make my hair more shiney than any hair products!
The person who cuts my hair tells me that blow drying with the grain of the hair will make it shiny, also using a straightener going with the grain of the hair (Although there's no other way to use a straightener), will make the hair shiny.
I would think that it depends on what type of shampoo you use too. Fructus works for me and it makes my hair nice and shiny once I've dried and brushed it. I don't think just using a certain hairbrush or a straightener will make your hair shiny. Thats just so that they can get you to buy it.
Hmm I hardly beleive that works...you should use sheen spray (not a lot just a squirt or two on your brush!) And it has a lot to do with what you eat! good luck!
Brushing too much can damage the hair cuticle. NOT recommended! Actually, your hair reacts better to a comb than a brush. Brushing it will only lead to split ends and hair breakage. Remember to always use a soft brush, avoid stiffs brushes.... Hair reflects poor nutrition through breaking, cracking and splitting. Dryness, brittleness, and lack luster hair can be sign of poor protein supply. Do remember to get your daily dose of good protein, your hair will than your for it! Take care of your body and you will have beatiful hair!

Rinse your hair with cold water to enhance the shine of your locks. Rinsing with cold water will close %26amp; smoothen the cuticle making it look shiny. Two ways to close and smoothen the cuticle after shampoo are:

A. To 1 gallon of distilled water add 1tbls of vinegar. Once the shampoo is washed apply the rinse. (It might not give a good odor, but the results are good.)

B. Apply acidic conditioners after rinse.

Get a transparent color on your hair in the same way normal colors are applied. The color will add little pigments to the hair shaft that would make your hair shine when light falls on it.

The simplest way to have shiny hair - deep conditions them.

Vitamin E is essential for your hair. Include brown rice, nuts, wheat germ and leafy green vegetables in your diet.

In a bowl mash avocado, one tbls of olive oil and a tsp of baking powder. Mix well and apply it on your hair. Rinse it after 15 minutes.

If you have got your locks colored, use products for color treated hair. These products will prevent the color from discharging, and making it look lifeless and dull.

Natural oil can also make your hair look shiny. Just brush or comb your hair.

Using a hair dryer can eliminate the moisture from your hair. Pick on heat activated shampoos and conditioners to retain the moisture.
These straighteners and brushes close the outer layer of hair called the cuticle. This allows the light to ';bounce'; off the hair shaft better to give your hair shininess!!
All that styling isn't good for your hair, buy a shine spray and give your hair a break from time to time xx
Hi there,

There is a lot of myths of how hair can be shiny with straighteners and hair brushes, but your hair has a protective coat of oil in it to help it become shiny. there are product that helps your hair if you have very dry hair.
Because you've got oil in your scalp and the more you brush your hair the more it brings the oil into your hair and thats why it makes you hair shiny! hope that helped!!!
I know a really simple and quick way to get your hair both straight and shiny without the use of any blow dryers or hair straighteners. I always use cold water to rinse out my conditioner in the morning. I suggest pantene. When I get out of the shower, instantly rinse and wrap you're towel around your hair. Lastly, position an electric fan facing your head, lean your head down so that the fan hits the back side of your hair, and comb it out until it's dry. When you get up, it'll be all puffy at first. Simply comb it out a little until the puffiness wears out.
B/c it combs out the dirt and oil in yor hair and makes it shiny and clean!!
I am mixed with black and white. I've had this same problem. I have to wash my hair with some good conditioner such as Redkin, but since I can't afford that I used Patene. Rinsing your hair with cold water makes a huge difference. I only hope that you have a detachable shower head so that you can bend over in the shower and just rinse your head without freezing to death.

Next, I used a comb with a ceramic backing (the back that faces the hair) to blow dry my hair with, that worked wonders.

Then, I used frizz-ease found at any local beauty supply, or silk drops to smooth over my hair before I started the straightening process.

Finnally, for me, I would wrap my hair up in a satin bandanna to sleep with just to make sure I didn't ruin it. I would sometimes wear rollers to bed if I was going somewhere special. That way I didn't have to stress in the morning about my hair.

I hope this helped a little...
well they cant really but with brushes and straightener you wash your hair then you use them.

HOPE THIS HELPED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
when your hair is shiny after using a straightner it is caused by the heat like when your hair gets in the sun and is heated it changes colors or gets shiny.!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There's too many answers on this thread so I may be repeating other people but here's the deal...

Hairbrushes with natural bristles, (ie. boars hair brushes) will make hair shinier by taking natural oil from the scalp and spreading it throughout the hair shaft.

Staighteners will also make it shiny, but be careful which ones you use. You should always use a ceramic plated flat iron with a one inch diameter. Ceramics will improve the luster of the hair without the extensive heat damage. Metal irons will split the hair and eventually make it worse than what you started with.

When flat ironing hair, I would recommend using a heat proctectant spray, they are available at sally's for about 4 bucks. ';Turn up the heat'; is a fairly cheap product found there that does the trick.

have fuuuuuun!
I use redken smooth down when i straighten my hair. it makes it shiny and helps with the damage a straightener makes
its not true that straighteners and hair brushes can make ur hair shiny cause it do not contain any conditioner in fact if they are used frequently they can be harmful to hair its all fake the brands use these phrases just for publicity so that their products are sold thats it my friend so don't go for artificial beauty u can shine up ur hair by applying natural home made products like egg, henna lemon etc.
